Road repair using Do-nou technology – MOFA 3rd year

The project, "Utilisation of locally available materials through participatory approach by the youth phase three" covering the eastern region districts on Namisindwa, Sironko, Kaliro, Jinja and Mayuge was Launched at Paradise hotel Jinja. The ceremony was presided over by the permanent secretary Ministry of Works and Transport. Participants were drawn from prime ministers office, ministry of local government and respective district local government.

Presentation on the importance of Do-nou technology was made during the workshop. This showed the four advantages of the technology as;

- It's durable, sections worked using the technology last longer.
- It's labour intensive therefore creates employment
- low cost and efficient because it uses locally available materials and tools
- It's easy to learn that even semi skilled artisans

can practice with little or no supervision

During the workshop, success stories from groups that were trained during the MOFA year 1 were presented

Project Closure Workshop

After successful implementation of MOFA funded projects in the three regions of central, south western and eastern of Uganda, a project closure workshop was held on 8th December 2021 at silver springs hotel Kampala. The closure ceremony was presided over by Horii Mizimoto Deputy Ambassador of the Embassy of Japan to Uganda. It was also graced by Eri Terada, reseacher / advisor from the Embassy of Japan to Uganda.

Participants were drawn from ministry of works and transport, ministry of local government, Kampala Capital City authority(KCCA), technical and political leaders of the eleven districts where the project was implemented during year one, two, three and selected trainees from the respective groups trained in the districts.

CORE entered into a memorandum of understanding with the Government of Uganda represented by ministry of works and transport for the dissemination of do-nou technology in the entire country.
