Core implemented a project in Madagascar named Resilient agriculture and forestry infrastructure during the period of October 2022 to March 2023.The project was funded by ILO Madagascar.
Implementation
The project was implemented in southern Madagascar in districts of Bekiry and Ambosary. Each district had 250 beneficiaries selected from the most vulnerable Fokontanys. Beneficiaries were trained in income generating skills of road construction, Improved agriculture practices for increased productivity and forestry for climate change mitigation.
Impact
500 beneficiaries trained, 2 kilometers of road was rehabilitated using Do-nou technology in both districts, 56 hectares of forests were planted and 6 hectares of agricultural demo farm fields setup with techniques of Zai pits and demi-lunes constructed and 70% increment in agricultural productivity.
