PROJECT
The teachers thanked CORE for working with the schools amidst COVID-19 where the schools had been under lockdown. Although the project had 10 months where schools were completely closed; CORE still decided to engage the pupils and keep them active throughout the Lockdown. Mr Phillip Ssendagala, from Good day infant, expressed thanks for the training he received in tree nursery establishment and management, where he as a person also gained invaluable skills in tree propagation which he prides in now.
Mr Lumide Robert from Bussi parents expressed his many thanks for the 10,000l water tank which has aided the school during the rainy season. He mentioned that his school has so many pupils who use about 50 jerrycans per day and all of these are fetched by pupils a distance from their school. He mentioned that although one tank can not solve all their water problems, it at least alleviates problems for some time. He, therefore, requested more tanks if an opportunity arises from CORE.
All teachers were extremely grateful to CORE for the tree for books activity where they received scholastic materials for their pupils, the tree nursery management tools which the schools retained and could use even after the project period and the dedication CORE had to even do school quizzes and refresh the pupils’ memory during the lockdown.
